There were two other games this Saturday evening with Moy at home to Strabane and Errigal thirds taking on Dregish.
Moy continued their fine form with a very convincing 0-13 to 0-7 over the Sigersons with county men Sean and Colm Cavanagh responsible for nine points between them. The first half was a fairly close affair that saw Strabane lead by two points early on. However Moy took a firm grip grip on proceedings after that and reached the half time whistle two points (0-5 to 0-3) ahead with Sean Cavanagh hitting three of his team’s points. Moy controlled the game in the second half to make it two wins from two starts. Scorers Sean Cavanagh 0-6, Colm Cavanagh 0-3, Eunan Deeney, Philip Jordan, Peter Mallon and Conall Duffy 0-1 each. JP Gallagher top scored with 0-5 for Strabane while their other scores came from Fergal Mc Gavigan and Paddy Roarty.
Errigal Thirds and Dregish played out an entertaining 0-11 to 1-8 draw with Dregish maintaining their fine early season form. Errigal opened up an early lead with Peter Loughran causing all sorts of problems for the Dregish lads and hitting three of his team’s eight first half points. Dregish won a penalty after a foul on Peter Mc Crossan which Fergus Mc Crossan converted to close the gap for his side. The half time score was 0-8 to 1-2 for Errigal but Dregish upped the pace in the second half and restricted Errigal to three points during that period. Dregish earned a deserved draw outscoring their opponents six points to three in the second half as the game ended 1-8 to 0-11. Ronan Tierney and Emmett Quinn featured among the Errigal scorers. Dregish scorers Johnathan Doherty 0-2, Mark Catterson 0-3, Stephen Sweeney 0-1, Niall O’Kane 0-1, Fergus Mc Crossan 1-0 and Peter Mc Crossan 0-1.
