SCÓR SINSIR COUNTY FINALS

The Scór Sinsir semi-finals were held this past weekend in St Patrick’s Hall, Fintona and in St Ciaran’s College in Ballygawley. The variety of talent on show was exceptional from dance through, song, music and drama and concluding with a wide expanse of knowledge in the Tráth na gCeist section.

The County Finals will be held in the Dún Uladh Centre in Killyclogher on Sunday 24th February 2019 starting at 3.00 pm. This promises to display a very competitive range of talent from the adult sections of our clubs.

There had been a fall off in participation at this level but following some additional work the adults in our clubs have risen to the task and put in some excellent performances in qualifying for the County Championships. This will in turn lead on into the Ulster Semi-Finals to be held in St Clare’s Hall in Glenavy on Saturday 9th March beginning at 6.00 pm. The Ulster Finals will follow on Saturday 23rd March in Galbally Community Centre beginning at 5.00 pm. The All Ireland Finals of Scór Sinsear will take place in Theatre Royal, Castlebar, Co Mayo,  on Saturday 13th April 2019 beginning at 3.00 pm

This coming weekend, Saturday 16th February sees the All Ireland Finals of Scór na nÓg also in Castlebar with An Eaglais N Pádraig in the Tráth na gCeist. Fear a’Tí for the event will be Dungannon Clarkes member, Steven Hughes. Steven is well known to Scór goers as Fear a’Tí at all Scór events in Tír Eoghain. Also adjudicating the Rince Foirne section will be another Clarkes member, Patricia Cummings. So good luck goes with all three elements from Tír Eoghain who are involved in next weekend’s events in Castlebar.
