Scór Sinsear
The Ulster semi finals of Scór Sinsear were held at two venues on Saturday and Sunday night – the first was in Silverbridge Harps complex in Armagh with the second taking place, under the guidance of An Charraig Mhór, N. Colmcille and Coiste Cultúir agus Teanga, Tír Eoghain, in the Patrician Hall in Carrickmore. The first semi final comprised of counties Antrim, Monaghan and Armagh. Cavan, Derry, Donegal, Down and Tyrone made up the competing counties in Sunday evening’s event at Carrickmore.
The level of competition in Carrickmore was of the highest quality and fully entertained the packed hall with the very best of Irish Culture and Heritage. Two clubs from each of the seven disciplines qualified for the Ulster Finals which are due to be held in Seán McDermott’s Complex in Threemilehouse in Monaghan on Saturday 8th April 2017. This will be followed by the All Ireland Finals which, again this year, will be held in the Waterfront Hall in Belfast on Saturday 6th May.
This month of a gap will now give all the competitors ample time to hone their skills and routines in preparation to be the best they can be and consequently qualify for the All Ireland finals. Tyrone clubs competed in all of the disciplines with each of them acquitting themselves, as is normal for Tyrone clubs, to their usual high standards. Tír Eoghain clubs qualified for the Ulster Finals in four of the seven events, Rince Foirne, Aithriseoireacht, Baileád Ghrúpa and Rince Foirne. The other three would have to consider themselves very unlucky not to be included also.
All the qualifiers for Ulster Finals are as follows
