Senior Camogie Side In Action
Sunday 09.03.2025
Tyrone senior camogie’s difficult start to the season continued as they fell to Laois away from home in a hard-fought encounter. After defeats to Roscommon and Wicklow, Tyrone were hoping for a change in fortunes, boosted by the return of Áine Cunningham and the availability of her sister Emer.

The match got off to a tough start, with the poor pitch conditions leading to an early injury. Laois took the lead through Susie Delaney but Tyrone hit back immediately, with Áine Cunningham firing home a goal. The sides continued to battle, with Kaylee O’Keeffe and Aimee Collier bringing Laois level before a goal and a series of frees gave them a three-point advantage. Tyrone, determined to stay in the fight, responded through an Áine Cunningham free before she set up Róisín O’Neill McKee for a brilliant goal. There was little between the teams as the first half drew to a close with the sides level Tyrone 2-3, Laois 1-6.
Half-time: Tyrone 2-3 Laois 1-6
Laois struck first after the restart, but Tyrone dug in, with Grainne McDonald leading by example in defence. Beth Jones capitalised on a pinpoint pass from Grainne Rafferty to send over a superb point. Just as momentum seemed to be shifting, Laois were awarded a penalty and converted it to reclaim the lead. Tyrone introduced fresh legs, with Siobhán Donnelly and Emer Cunningham coming off the bench, but Laois held firm. A further blow came when Aimee Collier struck her second goal, ultimately ending Tyrone’s hopes of a comeback.

Despite their resilience, Tyrone were left to rue missed chances and now look to regroup for their next challenge.
