Sigersons See Off Cookstown In Ulster League

Strabane Sigersons lifted the Ulster Junior league, defeating Cookstown in Newtownstewart. Cookstown dominated the opening quarter and led by 6. A Hayden McNamee goal brought the Sigersons right back into the contest. Ruairi Gormley and Oran McGrath began to dictate from the middle with the Strabane men leading 1-10 0-9 at the break. A second goal from McNamee, midway through the second half ensured the title would be heading to North Tyrone with man of the match McNamee top scoring with 2-8.
Best wishes to Cookstown’s Ruairi Mullan who sustained a serious knee injury during the second half.
