Sperrin Og Win Grade 1 Championship Final

Sperrin Óg Under 14s climbed to new heights by defeating Errigal Ciaran in the Championship final on Sunday evening in Loughmacrory.
The Greencastle girls grabbed an early lead with a goal from Rebecca Coyle after four minutes followed by points from Claire Tuohey and Rachel Mc Aleer.
Errigal Ciaran reduced the gap to two points with an eighth minute goal before Sperrin Óg took control of the game with goals from midfielder Lauryn Hollywood (12 mins) and Claire Tuohey (16 mins).
Further points from Rebecca Coyle, Seannon Fox and Claire Tuohey strengthened Sperrin Óg’s lead and a single Errigal point at the end of the first half left a ten point gap between the teams at the break.

Sperrin Óg dominated much of the second half exchanges limiting Errigal Ciaran’s scores to two points in the remainder of the game.
Claire Tuohey was the top scorer in the second half (1-3) with additional points from Rebecca Coyle and Rachel Mc Aleer accounting for the remaining scores in the game.
In defence Caoileann Conway was excellent with Orla Warnock, Orla Coyle, Michaela Mc Bride and Brianna Clarke all playing well.
Lauryn Hollywood had an excellent game in midfield, ably assisted by Niamh Coyle.
Up front Claire Tuohey had a terrific game with Rachel Mc Aleer, Shauna Morris and Rebecca Coyle all working very hard.
Another great team performance produced an excellent win for this great bunch of girls.
