Anyone who was at Healy Park on Wednesday afternoon will testify to seeing one of the best games of football of the year as Dean Maguirc Carrickmore and St.Joseph’s Coalisland fought out a thriller draw in the U16A Post Primary Schools Tyrone final. The Dean took an early lead thanks to a fortunate Conan Maguire goal but St.Joseph’s hit back with majors from Shea Burke and Tomas Carney to go five in front. Three Ciaran Daly points though helped the Dean to get back into contention by the break.

In the early minutes of the second half Conall Grimes sent a thunderbolt to the net to put the Dean in front but Coalisland responded through Carney. The Dean though were looking the sharper side and efforts from Cathaoir Gallagher and Daly moved them three in front with only five minutes left to play. That’s when Burke scored his second goal to level matters and when Carney added a point it looked like being St.Joseph’s day but defender Colm Logue saved the Dean with a late equaliser.
