St.Ciaran’s Defeat Holders

St.Ciarans Ballygawley are through to the semi final of the U18 Vocational Schools Markey Cup after beating St.Malachy’s Castlewellan at Crossmaglen on Wednesday afternoon. The Down school had won the title for the past three years but on the day St.Ciaran’s were worthy 3-11 to 2-7 winners. St.Ciarans led 1-8 to 2-1 at half time with Cillian Barkey getting their goal from the penalty spot and Sean Hackett and Neil Hagan among the points with their keeper Paul O’Hagan saving a penalty. In the second half Hackett and Barkey got further goals to send them through to a possible all Tyrone semi final providing Holy Trinity defeat Ballybay in their quarter final next week.
