St.Ciarans Ballygawley breezed into the semi finals of the Markey Cup when they overpowered Donegal champions Glenties at Letterkenny on Tuesday afternoon. Augher’s Sean Hackett was in superb form finishing with 1-9 to his name with his goal coming after only five minutes. Conor O’Hagan also found the net at the end of the opening quarter to leave the Tyrone lads 2-6 to 0-2 in front at halftime. It was more of the same in the second period with Hackett and Aidan Nugent adding a number of points with the latter also getting his side’s third goal of the afternoon. Their reward is a semi final meeting with Virginia College Cavan and it keeps alive the prospects of an all Tyrone decider, holders Holy Trinity Cookstown meeting Ballybay in the other last four clash.
