St. Joseph’s Defeat Dungannon In Classic Encounter
Wednesday 26.10.2011

St Patrick’s College Dungannon and St Joseph’s Coalisland served up a classic derby match today in the under 14 Tyrone Vocational Schools competition. The game was played in great spirits and produced a match that will live long on the memory as both sides attacked and defended en masse. Dungannon certainly shaded the first half and were deserving leaders at the break 2.05 to St Joseph’s Coalisland’s 1.03. Dungannon had enjoyed ample amounts of possession but failed to transfer that into scores and ultimately that cost them. Dungannon scores coming from Neil Mc Conville, Odhran Donnelly, Cristopher Mc Neill & Jack Campbell
The second half took up where the first left off and once more the game was end to end. Coalisland were much more clinical in the second thirty minutes scoring almost every time they attacked. St Joseph’s scored 4.10 in the 2nd half to Dungannon’s 5.2. Christopher Mc Neill finished the game with a hat trick of goals while Neil Mc Conville and Naiose Martin were the other goal scorers. In what was a very good team display from the winners Sean Day was outstanding and top scored with 2-05, Jamie Devlin hit 2-02 while Shane Crew also found the net. There were also excellent performances from Tiarnan Duffy, Dylan Toner, James Donnelly and Thomas Carney.
Final score
St Joseph’s Coalisland 5.17
St Patrick’s College 7.7
