Edendork made it through to the Donnelly Vauxhall Intermediate championship final at the second time of asking when they overcame Cookstown in a keenly contested replay at Healy Park.

The Father Rocks were the better side early on and on three occasions in the first half they held a two point lead with John Gilmore and Shea McGarrity among their scorers. Edendork though finished the first half strongly and after Harry Og Conlon and Niall Morgan had helped them draw level a point with the last kick from Darren McCurry gave them a 0-6 to 0-5 interval advantage.

Gilmore and McCurry exchanged points on the restart before Conlon bagged a seventh minute goal. It looked like being a decisive score but sixty seconds later Gilmore sent a thunderbolt to the net to leave the minimum between the sides again.

Edendork though lifted their performance with Christopher McCurry, Paul Donaghy and Morgan all tagging on points.  Gilmore and Conlon traded scores before Darren McCurry left five between the sides. With a minute to go the superb Conor O’Hare got Cookstown’s second goal but Morgan had the last say for Edendork  as they advanced to a final date with Urney on a 1-13 to 2-7 scoreline.
