The 2017 TTM All-stars retained the Myles McCann Memorial Cup after an exciting tussle with league champions Errigal Ciaran at Father Laurence Park in Fintona on Sunday afternoon.  It was the men from Dunmoyle who made the better start with points from Mark Kavanagh, Ryan Lynch and Ben McDonnell coming either side of a Bryan Horisk goal. The All-stars, managed by Mickey Harte, rallied approaching halftime with points from Ronan O’Neill, Ciaran Quinn and Cathal McShane (3) to turn things around to lead 0-11 to 1-7 at the break.

The All-stars made a great start to the second half with points from Declan McClure, Aaron McCarney, McShane, Ronan McHugh and defender Brendan Boggs to take a stranglehold on proceedings. Errigal Ciaran were then awarded a penalty when Paudge McAnenly was fouled but the same player saw his spot kick saved by club teammate Roan McAnenly. Niall Kelly, Kavanagh and Peter Og McCartan had Errigal Ciaran points but efforts from McCarney and Darragh Kavanagh helped the All-stars win on a 1-21 to 1-14 scoreline.

After the game members of  Myles McCann’s family presented the Cup to All-star Captain Joe McMahon. Massive thanks to everyone who contributed to a hugely successful day including match officials, Fintona Club and the ladies who provided refreshments afterwards. A big thanks also to Kieran Kennedy of O’Neills for generously providing the playing kit for the 2017 All-stars as well as everyone who attended the game and gave so generously to the three named charities, namely Kevin Bell Repatriation, Head Injury Unit in the RVH and the St. Vincent De Paul.
