Tyrone Og Sport Champions Stewartstown Harps have added the Ulster title to their county crown today at Glen, Maghera in County Derry. The Harps were drawn in the same group as Newry Shamrocks and Slaughtneil of Derry in the opening part of the tournament and finished top of their section. The semi final was an open draw and the Tyrone champions found themselves drawn to face the Newry side again in what turned out to be a real titanic battle. The sides finished level at the end of normal time and still could not be separated even after extra time. It was then down to a next score scenario and fortunately for Stewartstown a Macauley Quinn score took them through to the final.
They faced Donaghmoyne of Monaghan in the final and although there were many tired bodies among their panel they won easily on a 4-11 to 1-6 score line with Darren Devlin, Macauley Quinn and Mark Rooney among the scorers in what was a fine all round team performance. Congratulations to all concerned with this fine achievement from all at temtalkmag.com
