All Ireland Junior Football Championship Quarter Final
Glasgow Gaels Stewartstown Harps

It wasn’t pretty for Stewartstown in the opening half despite the fact that they raced into an early lead following a Dan Lowe goal in the first minute.  Dylan McElhatton added the second score of the game in the 3rd minute with a nice point from play.  That was the Harps last score for almost 16 minutes as the Gaels started to control the middle third.  Their opening score came in the 14th minute as Shane O’Brien raised the white flag.

Five minutes later Darragh Elliott added Glasgow’s second point to narrow the gap to two.  Stewartstown hit the next score as Anton Coyle ended the barren spell.  Glasgow redoubled their efforts and responded with a Richard Stevenson free followed by a goal from Darren Ashmore that put the Gaels ahead for the first time in the encounter.

That lead was short lived.  Dan Lowe won and converted a penalty in the 27th minute to leave it Glasgow 1-3 Stewartstown 2-2 at the break.

The second half proved to be as equally challenging for the Harps.  By the midway point they led by four points 2-6 to 1-5.  Dan Lowe and Conor Quinn adding points for Stewartstown and Liam Ryan clipping over a score for the Gaels.  Stewartstown showed their experience though and pulled away with further points from Dan Lowe, Theo Lowe, Conor Quinn and Anton Coyle.  They had enough in hand to concede a late Darren Ashmore goal and still win the game by five points.

Final Score – Glasgow Gaels 2-5 Stewartstown Harps 2-10
