Memories & Memorabilia: Telling GAA Stories through Objects at Strule Arts Centre, Omagh
On the eve of the Tyrone Senior Club Football Championship’s opening round, Strule Arts Centre invites you to Memories & Memorabilia: Telling GAA Stories through Objects, Wednesday 10 September at 7pm.
Dr Siobhán Doyle, Curator at the National Museum of Ireland and author of A History of the GAA in 100 Objects, will share how the story of the GAA is told through treasured items – from family medals and worn jerseys to childhood keepsakes.
Drawing on extensive research and travels, Siobhán reveals how these objects carry powerful memories, reflecting both personal journeys and the wider history of the Association, while highlighting the importance of preserving our sporting heritage.
