Dungannon staged a superb comeback at Plunkett Park in Pomeroy on Sunday afternoon to pip Greencastle in an entertaining first round encounter in the LCC Intermediate championship. It certainly was a game of two halves with the wind playing a decisive part.

Greencastle had the elements in their favour in the first half and they established a 0-7 to 0-0 lead with points from Cahir McCullagh getting five and Mark Carson and Peter Teague also on target. Dungannon missed a lot of chances in the first half but they got going after the break. Naoise Martin, Conor McKee and Patrick Quinn had points with the latter also finding the net five minutes from time to put his side in front. Greencastle lost Mark Conway to a second yellow before McKee completed the scoring with a mammoth 50m free for what was his seventh point of the contest as it finished 1-11 to 0-9.
