Hosting a club championship match gives a club an opportunity to show off their facilities to the wider GAA public. In addition to this it also challenges club members to put their best foot forward in terms of weighing in and making sure that the whole event runs smoothly.

On Friday night both Derrytresk and Tattyreagh hosted first round championship fixtures and both clubs can be justifiably proud of the manner in which the games were hosted and how well their facilities were presented. Top class playing surfaces, first class stewarding and good sized crowds all provided for.

Tyrone Gaels are rightly proud of the many achievements that the county has been awarded over recent years. We should also be justifiably proud of the fantastic facilities that each and every one of our clubs has. From the smallest to the largest, the standard is superb as was evidenced again tonight.
