Dunmoyle hosted the first round games of Tattyreagh v Brackaville and Fintona v Eskra. The first game saw Tattyreagh get the better of the Roes after a very competitive and entertaining game. The recently returned James Darcy proved to be the ideal target man for Tattyreagh causing panic throughout as his pace and finishing helped the Tatts into an early twelve point lead. Goals from James Darcy and Pat Harley helped put the Tatts in a strong position twenty minutes into the contest.

Oisin Mc Garth, Johnny Harkin and Keely Mc Donagh added points as Tattyreagh set about building a lead. Brackaville were in bother but eventually they got to terms with their opponents goal from Dale Mc Sorley and points from Cormac O’Neill and Daire Carberry gave them hope as the half time whistle sounded.

The second half was a high scoring thirty minutes of football with both sides creating numerous chances. Ronan Mc Hugh, Dale Mc Sorley and Conor Mc Guigan kept the scoreboard ticking over but Tattyreagh responded with goals from James Darcy and Peadar Mullan  as both teams upped the ante. Another Tattyreagh goal, this one from Eoghan Murray helped keep the Roes at arm’s length as the Tatts led by nine 5-16 to 2-16. Tattyreagh dominated the closing minutes and final shed deserving winners on an final score of 5-18 to 2-16.

Fintona showed clearly why they are many people’s favourites for the Connolly’s of Moy Tyrone Junior title after a very convincing defeat of neighbours Eskra at Dunmoyle on Saturday evening. The game was divided into three clear parts with Fintona racing into an early ten point lead as Peter Colton, Eugene Colton and Conor Mc Gillion put them 0-13 to 0-3 ahead twenty minutes into the game.

Eskra were struggling to get into the contest but during the closing ten minutes of the half they got themselves back into the contest with points from Finn Kelly, Conor O’Hagan, Peter Hughes and Joe Mc Carroll as the gap was down to three points. Fintona were under pressure but the half time whistle came at just the right time for them.

The second half saw Fintona burst out of the traps and dominate throughout the half. Oran Hughes, Aaron Mc Carney, Conor Mc Gillion and Jared Brogan helped them add seven points and despite the best efforts of Joe Mc Carroll and Peter Hughes Fintona continued to dominate. A Jared Brogan goal midway through the second half stretched the league and the momentum swung very much in favour of the Pearses.

Fintona ran their bench and added further points from Peter Colton, Aaron Mc Carney and Conan Hegarty while a single point from Peter Hughes wrapped up the scoring as Fintona made it through to the quarter finals on a scoreline of 1-24 to 0-13.

The Pearses will now face neighbours Drumragh in the quarter final.
