Tattyreagh 1-21 Brocagh 1-13
Tattyreagh qualified for the semi-final of this year’s Connollys of Moy Junior championship, following a victory over Brocagh in Dungannon. The division 3A winners Tattyreagh had already defeated Brocagh twice in the league but the Loughshore men put in a determined showing and it was only in the second half did the Tatts pull away for victory.
Keelan McDonagh and James Darcy had Tattyreagh in front with two points in as many minutes, however Tattyreagh were to lose the influential Darcy moments later to injury. Eoin McGrath stepped into the breach and had an outstanding performance kicking six points, the display ensuring McGrath the Go man of the match award.
Brocagh were soon level Dean Canavan and Daniel Deehan on target for the Emmets and the reliable Michael Hughes had them in front in the 11th minute. The lead was short lived as half backs Cartin and Armstrong combined to set up Pat Harley for the opening goal.
The entertaining first half swung back in favour of Brocagh a two pointer from Brandon McKiver levelled and points from Conan McDonald and James McKiver had them in front despite a Joe Cartin point at the other end.
Eoin McGrath opened his account in the 19th minute to level before a McDonagh free reclaimed the advantage. Michael Robinson did equalise but Tattyreagh produced a strong finish to the half a two pointer from McGrath, a McDonagh free and a brace of points from Peadar Mullan in added time had Tattyreagh leading 1-10 0-9 at the break
With the breeze at their backs Tattyreagh controlled the second half and kept the scoreboard ticking to ensure safe passage.
McDonagh and Owen Canavan swapped points before Tattyreagh reeled off eight points in a row. McGrath, McDonagh, Ronan Collins and Stephen Gervin all on target as the advantage grew to twelve with ten minutes remaining.
A two point free from Hughes and a second Robinson point stopped the flow but McGrath responded. Brocagh did get a goal late into injury time, a high ball floated into the square with Dean Canavan and Colm McFall both contenders for the final touch. Stephen Gervin kicked the final point as Tattyreagh head into a huge semi-final with near neighbours Fintona.
