St.Patricks Academy Dungannon made it three wins out of three in this year’s MacRory Cup when they ended the unbeaten record of St.Macartans Monaghan at Emyvale on Wednesday afternoon. It was nip and tuck throughout and it was only in the final quarter that the Tyrone lads managed to pull away with a goal from county minor Ryan Devlin proving crucial as they came out on top 1-12 to 0-10.
It was honours even at the break 0-5 apiece with half back Sean Quinn, Stefan Lavery and Devlin among the Dungannon points. Harry Og Conlon, Aidan McGarrity and Eunan Deeney also featured on the score sheet after the break as the Academy established a three point lead before Devlin struck for that killer goal with only eight minutes left on the clock. Next up for Dungannon is a mouth-watering local derby with Omagh CBS under lights at Healy Park on Monday evening at five o’clock and with both sides protecting unbeaten records the winner of that tie will progress to the McCormick Cup final on December 1st.
