Time And Weather Conspiring Against Minors.

Well time may be already running out for Christmas shoppers as the winter weather makes life increasingly difficult for those operating to a strict timetable of shopping. Mind you shoppers are not the only ones fearing the end of the month and the disappearance of December days.

The Tyrone Minor management team find themselves in quite a dilemma at the minute and if the weather does not improve soon they may have to cut their panel without getting another look at the players presently named as part of the squad.

January and February are closed months for minors and no trials or collective training is permitted. So with the minor league due to start in March Mickey Donnelly and his colleagues might find themselves having to make some difficult calls without getting another chance to look at some players. Presently there are fifty seven lads named on the panel but that has to be reduced to forty and then further reduced to thirty for the championship. The present cold snap is reducing the likelihood of any football before Christmas and although there have already been nine trials held with more than two hundred players getting the chance to impress, the manager would like to give these lads at least one more chance to stake their claim for a place on the training panel for the minor league for 2011.
