Tough start For Tyrone

Tyrone’s senior and minor sides face difficult opening championship ties for the 2015 season having been drawn to face Donegal away from home in the Ulster Preliminary round fixture. The winners of that game will then travel to the Athletic Grounds in Armagh to take on Kieran Mc Geeney’s outfit in the quarter finals of the competition.

Of course Tyrone have faced challenging preliminary round matches before in the championship but with the county’s senior side still to finalise its backroom team, this draw is certain to focus the minds of all involved. Donegal of course are presently searching for a new manager and whoever comes in will surely relish the prospect of facing Tyrone in Ballybofey again.

Meanwhile there is still confusion regarding the management of the county minor side but hopefully with the draw now made that situation will soon become clearer. One thing is for sure that whoever is in charge come next May, they will be pitting their wits against a very confident and experienced Donegal set up.
