Trillick came from behind to beat Clonoe in an entertaining grade two minor championship final at Galbally on Saturday evening to complete the double at this level. The O’Rahillys raced into a 0-6 to 0-2 lead thanks to points from Ronan Corey, Shane Conlan and Shea Coney.

Trillick were then awarded a penalty which Simon Garrity converted and moments later they thought that they had taken the lead only for Ciaran Daly’s flicked effort to the net being ruled out for a square ball. On the stroke of half time Clonoe were awarded a penalty which Ciaran Magee converted to leave his side leading 1-6 to 1-2.

Seanie O’Donnell and Liam Gray halved the deficit o n the restart before Trillick took the lead in the 40th minute when wing half back Colm McCaughey scored a goal. Oisin Farry and Garrity tagged on points to put the St.Macartans four clear but Clonoe responded with scores from Ryan McCabe and Caolan McLoughlin. It was anybody’s game but an injury time Gray point left Trillick worthy 2-8 to 1-8 winners.
