Trillick recovered from a poor start at Drumquin on Monday evening to beat a spirited Doth Domhnaigh side to annex the grade two minor league title. The Gortin/ Glenelly select enjoyed a dream start to the game as Aodhan McConnell and Rory Kennedy both found the net inside the opening three minutes.

The St.Macartans though didn’t panic with Sean O’Donnell, Simon Garrity and Liam Gray hitting points with O’Donnell also bagging a goal. With the sides level midfielder Gray bagged a goal in the last attack of the first half as Trillick established a 2-6 to 2-3 lead and they never looked back.

O’Donnell, Garrity and Gray all tagged on points on the restart before Ciaran Daly palmed in a goal to end the game as a contest. Gray added another brace of points before a Cormac McBride point final opened Both Domhnaigh’s second half account. To their credit Both Domhnaigh played to the final whistle but while McConnell and McBride both scored late goals it was Trillick who ran out deserving winners on a 4-14 to 4-4 scoreline.
