Tuesday Night Success For Derrylaughan And Strabane

Home advantage proved to be key on Tuesday evening as Derrylaughan and Strabane recorded wins over Ardboe and Aghaloo respectively. The Kevin Barrys were full value for their 0-20 to 0-12 win over their Loughshore neighbours. Stephen McGrath, Ciaran Quinn and Fergal McAliskey had points for the winners with Michael O’Neill, Conall Devlin and Nishy O’Neill on target for the Rossas. Both sides fielded with a Ciaran Gervin on their starting fifteen and both players weighed in with three points each for their respective sides.
It proved to be a high scoring affair at Sigerson Park with the hosts coming out on top on a 2-15 to 2-11 scoreline. The home side led 1-7 to 0-5 at the break with Brian Breslin getting the goal and Warner Mullen and Ruairi McGlone providing points for their respective sides. Niall McElroy then scored two quick fire goals for the visitors to put them five in front but Strabane didn’t panic with Breslin getting a second major and Mullen taking his personal haul to 0-10 as they secured a much needed victory.
