Tuesday Night Wins For Pomeroy And Eglish

There was a game each in Division 1 and 2 on Tuesday night and they resulted in crucial wins for Pomeroy and Eglish over Gortin and Coalisland respectively. The Plunketts were worthy 2-17 to 2-7 winners over Gortin at home for a resuly that saw them leapfrog over their opponents and out of the bottom two in the table. Kezzy Armstrong and Hugh McNamee got their goals with points coming from Ronan Duffin, Jude Campbell, Frank Burns, Ryan McCallan and Kieran McGeary. Odhran and Ciaran Brolly got the majors for the visitors with Liam Og Mossey, Sean McAleer and Lucas McGarvey their point scorers on the night.
In Intermediate football Eglish got past the challenge of Coalisland at Connolly Park in a high scoring ecounter to move to within two points of the ledaers leaders and dent the Fianna’s title hopes, 3-19 to 4-14 the final scoreline. Ethan Jordan contiuued his rich form of scoring with 0-11 to his name including a couple of two pointers from frees with Seamus (2)and Jack Muldoon getting their gals with Ryan McKenna, Dan Muldoon and Conor McCann featuring among their points. Tiernan Quinn weighed in with 2-5 for the Fianna with Mark Hamilton and Niall Devlin getting their other goals with Bailey Leonard, Peter Herron and Ruairi McHugh notching points.
