Two All Star Nominations For Tyrone

The nominations for the 2011 football All Star awards were announced at Croke Park on Tuesday afternoon with two Tyrone players included in the list of forty five names. 2008 footballer of the year Sean Cavanagh has been nominated at midfield while Omagh’s Joe McMahon has been shortlisted in the full back line. The full list of nominees is as follows:

Full Backs: Michael Foley (Kildare), Neil McGee (Donegal), Frank McGlynn (Donegal), Marc Ó Sé (Kerry), Rory O’Carroll (Dublin), Tom O’Sullivan (Kerry), Joe McMahon (Tyrone), Hugh McGrillen (Kildare), Cian O’Sullivan (Dublin).

The county by county breakdown is as follows: Dublin 12, Kerry 9, Donegal 7, Mayo 5, Kildare 5, Cork 3, Tyrone 2, Wexford 1, Derry 1.
The final team of 15 players will be presented at the banquet event at Convention Centre Dublin on Friday October 21.
