Both these sides would’ve been keen to build on excellent mid week results, as Owen Roes came into this fixture following a Tuesday night win against Newtownstewart, while Brocagh had easily accounted for Aghaloo on the same evening. After the hour it was the hosts who made it two wins in a week as they put on another strong showing to take the spoils.

The home side were out of the traps early and Cathal McShane (0-2) and Charles O’Doherty had registered efforts before 5 minutes had elapsed.

Brocagh got their first score on 6 minutes, but two more McShane efforts cemented the O’Neills strong start. Wing back Davy Harte added to the hosts’ advantage before they got their opening goal on the quarter hour mark. McShane was bundled over in the square to win a penalty. The same player dusted himself down and sent the kick to the net.

The visitors pulled things back a little with the game’s next two points, but this was an Owen Roes side showing greater fluency and resolve and they hit back in the best possible way. Diminutive forward Stephen Harper found himself in on goal after the keeper had saved McShane’s initial effort, and he made no mistake lacing it past the keeper.

Harper added to the lead a minute later as he pointed, before Stephen Kelly and Brendan Boggs closed out the home sides scoring to leave them 2-9 to 0-3 ahead at the interval.

A placed kick from Cathal McShane got the second half Owen Roes scoring underway before their opponents hit three scores in succession.

Scores from Boggs, Kiernan Kelly, and Stephen Kelly cancelled these out as Owen Roes pushed to put the game to bed. Sub Ronan McNulty entered the fray and quickly got his name on the scoresheet, in reply to another point from the East Tyrone outfit.

Wing back Seamus Dooher chalked another one up for the home side before the same player grabbed their third goal. Dooher’s line ball was met by McShane who exchanged passes with McNulty, before laying it off to Dooher who had continued his run in on goal making no mistake with a neat finish.

Brocagh knocked over the game’s last three scores in the closing stages but it was too little too late, and it was Owen Roes who bagged their second win in a week. Final score : Owen Roes 3-15, Brocagh 0-10
