Tyrone will bid to win the Nicky Rackard Cup for the first time when they take on Fingal in the final at Croke Park on Saturday afternoon [2.oo]. The Red Hands have enjoyed a good season to date having already annexed the division 3B National League title but there is no doubt that success at headquarters would surpass that achievement.

They will go into the game as underdogs given the fact that their opponents play in a higher division but that is a tag that won’t unduly worry Mattie Lennon’s men.  They had to pull out all the stops to get the better of Sligo in Dungannon in a game that required extra time to decide before accounting for Roscommon in Athleague in the semi final.

That win will have done wonders for their confidence and there is no reason why they can’t add more silverware to their haul. Key players for Tyrone include Ruairi Devlin, Stephen Donnelly and Aidan Kelly in defence, Mark Winters and Gary Fox in midfield and  Conor Grogan, Tiernan Morgan, Gerard Gilmore and top scorer and team captain Damien Casey up front.
