Tyrone have added two newcomers to their squad ahead of Sunday’s McKenna Cup opener with neighbours Donegal at Healy Park. Ciaran Gervin and Paddy McNeice have been called up by manager Mickey Harte in a move that will give the Red Hands greater options in attack.

Both players enjoyed superb underage careers with both playing up front on the Tyrone minor side that won the All Ireland title in 2008 by beating Mayo in the final after a replay. Gervin also helped St.Patricks Academy Dungannon to MacRory and Hogan Cup glory in the same year while McNeice won an All Ireland Vocational schools medal with Tyrone twelve months prior to that.

They have been rewarded for superb seasons with their respective clubs in 2010. McNeice returned from injury to play a key role as Coalisland secured their first Tyrone senior championship title in twenty years while Gervin was a central figure for Derrylaughan as they returned to the top flight in Tyrone club football when annexing the Intermediate championship title. Both players are set to figure prominently for Raymond Munroe and Cathal McAnenly’s county U21 side this season as well.
