Tyrone GAA Handball honoured by Omagh District Council

Tyrone GAA Handball celebrated what has been unprecedented success in 2014 on Friday evening at the Omagh District Council Chambers when the Council and chairman, Sean Begley, made a special presentation to the County committee and successful handballers.
Upon reflection it certainly has been a remarkable year for the county.
A total of 36 Tyrone GAA Handball players secured either All Ireland, Nationals or International titles in the calendar year and a further 10 players made it to national finals in the same period, giving a record total of 46 Tyrone handballers competing in national or international handball finals in 2014.
Tyrone GAA Handball Leagues get underway
The new season of the Tyrone Attic Stairs GAA Handball Adult Leagues got underway at the weekend and once again it looks set to be a top class event. A total of eight divisions will see an impressive 249 matches played in all over the coming four weeks in the leagues as 86 players go in search of honours in the various grades. The Championships and full Juvenile leagues/championships and under 10 blitz competitions will commence in the opening week of January which will see in all over 170 players compete in the various competitions.
A series of matches got the 2014/2015 Tyrone GAA Handball Leagues underway from Thursday evening and the action will continue now this week with full programmes of fixtures in all grades listed. NB – the Dark Blue Division 1 League has seen 2 withdrawals (Lisa McAleer and Aoife Kelly withdrawn) and this Division has now been amalgamated into 1 League division now. Full revised fixtures and structure can be seen in the link below.
