Another big week of action in the Tyrone GAA Handball scene with a host of major games down for decision:
•The Tyrone Boys Juvenile 40×20 Singles Championships decided
• Three Tyrone schools won All Ireland Colleges 40×20 championship titles
• Tyrone won six Ulster Adult 40×20 Singles Championship titles (2 finals to play)
• This Friday 20th February will see the She’s Ace Tyrone Girls Juvenile Singles 40×20 finals in Beragh
• On Saturday and Sunday, at 6 venue across the province, Ulster Adult doubles finals will take place with Tyrone competing in 7 Finals in all
• Also this Saturday 21st February will see the Tyrone GAA Handball Juvenile team take on Antrim, Down and Derry in Saval, from 10.30am.
1. Ulster 40×20 Championships
Tyrone won six Ulster Adult 40×20 Singles Championship titles (2 finals to play) while the Ulster Adult Doubles 40×20 Championships Finals and Juvenile Championships are down for decision this weekend.
2. 3 Tyrone Schools win All Ireland 40×20 Colleges Championships
Saturday proved to be another big day of success for Tyrone GAA Handball Juvenile players with three Tyrone Schools winning All Ireland Colleges Championship titles in Kingscourt.
3. Tyrone GAA Handball 40×20 Juvenile Championships
There were two brothers’ doubles in this year’s Tyrone GAA Handball Juvenile 40×20 Singles Championships as all eight Boys titles were decided in Beragh on Monday and Tuesday evening. A series of gripping games saw 2015 Singles Champions decided with Eoin McElholm, Conor Owens, Jonathan Owens, Cahir Munroe, Lorcan McBride, Antoin Fox, Cormac Munroe and Conor Kelly claiming the honours. Next up its the Girls finals on Friday evening.
4. Tyrone GAA Handball 40×20 Championships
The Tyrone GAA Handball Mens Open Senior Singles Championship semi finals, scheduled for this evening in Loughmacrory ore OFF.  The Mens Open Singles Championship semi finals are now on Thursday 5th March 2015, in Loughmacrory, commencing 7.30pm. The Mens Open Singles Championship Final is on Thursday 12th March 2015 at 8pm.
Doubles Championship Fixtures for Adult Junior Doubles and Masters Doubles will be released next week.
Boys Juvenile Doubles Championship will start next weekend in Under 10 Grade only and the following week in other grades – Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16. There will also be Girls Juvenile Doubles Championships in Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16.
The B Singles championships will get underway directly following the doubles championships. Details to follow next week.
5. Awards for Tyrone GAA Handball
Breacach’s Maeve McElduff is one of 12 nominees for the 2014 Ulster Herald Sports Personality of the Year Award. Make sure all handballers click on the link and vote for Maeve. Link Below. Closing date for votes: 10am, Monday 2nd March 2015. Breacach Club are also in the Youth Team of the Year category at the awards.
This follows on fro last weekend when SEAN KERR was awarded the Omagh Sports Awards Junior Sportstar of the Year for 2014. This is a very prestigious award indeed when considering that all sports in the county are cobvered in this category including gaelic football, boxing, soccer and athletics which were among the nominees.
Previously Johnny Woods had won the Ulster GAA Writers Cormac McAnallen Young Achiever Award for 2014 ahead of Donegal GAA stars Patrick McBrearty and Ryan McHugh whileLoughmacrory GAA Handball Club were awarded the Ulster GAA Writers Handball Award for 2014.
Conor McElduff was awarded the Teamtalkmag Tyrone GAA AllStar Handball Award for 2014.
6. Cumann na mBunscoil Ulster Event on Monday 23rd February in Loughmacrory & Carrickmore
Following on from the Tyrone Cumann na mBunscoil event staged in Loughmacrory last week, the annual Ulster Cumann na mBunscoil Ulster Event is now to be staged this coming Monday in Loughmacrory and Carrickmore. Keep an eye on the Tyrone GAA Handball Facebook Page for details and information when available.
7. World Handball Championships 2015 Entry Information
There will be a host of Tyrone GAA Handball players making the journey to Calgary later this year for the 2015 World Handball Championships and full details on grades, entry and hotel information is now available on the Official Worlds 2015 Website.
8. Lough 1Wall Showdown 2015
Loughmacrory GAA Handball Club launched their brand new One Wall Handball Arena in June 2014 and the inaugural Lough 1Wall Showdown in August. This year, with the Worlds in August 2015, the 2nd running of the Lough 1WALL Showdown will take place on the weekend of Friday 17th – Sunday 19th July 2015. The Club have big plans for this Event in which The Open titles were won in 2014 by Wally Amaro and Catriona Casey. A One Wall Season build-up to the event will be launched on May Bank Holiday weekend from which stage a Team One Wall League will be launched with teams featuring players from Under 10 up to Open grade and up to Masters, in girls and boys codes and take place every week for 5 weeks. This is a very unique League event and details will be released soon.
