Tyrone Hurlers Into Ulster U21 Shield Final

Tyrone are into the Ulster U21 Hurling Shield final after producing a strong second half display against Donegal at Healy Park on Wednesday evening. to win on a 2-16 to 2-8 score line.

The sides were locked together at 2-6 each at the break but in the second half there was only one side on it as the hosts assumed complete control. Donegal began brightly with points from Michael McGhee and Michael Gallagher but a long delivery in from Eamon Duffin was fumbled into his own net by Colm Flood to bring Tyrone into the game.

Thomas Lowe got another Tyrone goal with the superb Bryan McGurk landing a number of points but Donegal grabbed two goals of their own from corner forward Michael Gallagher with Ronan McDermott notching a brace of points to leave it all to play for.

In the second half Tyrone took over with McGurk taking his personal haul to seven as Donegal managed just another two points. Senior stars Damian Casey and Aidan Kelly both registered as did substitutes Ciaran McCrudden and Mark Mullan as the Red Hands eased into a final meeting with Fermanagh next Wednesday night.
