Tyrone are into their first All Ireland minor final in three years after edging out Roscommon at Croke Park on Sunday afternoon on a 1-12 to 0-13 scoreline. The Red Hands had first half points from Philip Donnelly and man of the match Conor McKenna but they trailed 0-6 to 0-3 at the interval. Diarmuid Murtagh, Diarmuid McGann and Henry Walsh had first half points for Roscommon with full forward McGann having a penalty well saved by Sean Fox after only four minutes.

An outstanding goal from McKenna brought Tyrone level early in the second half, the centre half forward taking a pass from Eglish teammate Colm Byrne to smash an unstoppable shot to the top left hand corner of the net. Roscommon hit back with points from Murtagh, Ronan Daly and Cathal Compton but Tyrone weren’t to be denied. Cathal McShane made an impact when coming on with a fisted point, McKenna and Brennan got another couple each before centre half back Christopher Morris sealed victory with another fine score.
