New Tyrone ladies manager Gerry Moane will once again reshuffle his
pack this coming weekend. The genial Fermanagh man is hoping to have
two games to select for as his side face a Tyrone laden UUJ in the
Dowd cup semi-final on Saturday afternoon aiming to book a final spot
for Sunday. Monaghan who beat Tyrone in their final group game last
weekend are expected to be too strong for Queens while the battle
between Tyrone and Jordanstown could be the game of the weekend.
The University side have a raft of Tyrone players including Uni
veterans Neamh Woods, Shannon Quinn and Christiane Hunter. They will
be pitting their wits against an experienced looking Tyrone led by the
Donnellys, Lynda and Cathy and the talented and sharper than ever
Gemma Begley. There’s a host of new faces on show this term and they
too will be keen to make their mark ahead of the start of the national
football league.

The Dowd Cup weekend will take place at Queens Playing Fields at Malone.
After a full month of preliminary fixtures in the competition
involving 5 counties and 3 colleges the semi-finalists are now known
and they will battle it out on Saturday to win a place in Sunday’s final.
The semi-final pairings are UUJ 1 v Tyrone and QUB 1 v Monaghan.
Both games will take place on Saturday at 2.30pm with the
final scheduled for the same venue on Sunday at 3.00pm.
