The Tyrone senior ladies are still seeking their first league points in the 2015 campaign after another disappointing defeat. This time it was a strong Galway that saw off the Tyrone challenge 4-15 to 1-6 at rain lashed Tuam stadium.

Spearheaded by Edel Concannon the home side dominated the tie after Gemma Begley had scored an early Tyrone goal. The Tyrone forward rattling home on twenty seconds from a long Niamh O’Neill pass.  Despite a battling display Tyrone seemed off the pace again and even the return of Cathy Donnelly from a long term lay off couldn’t spark a revival in the Tyrone attack. Tyrone now face relegation with games against Dublin. Cork and Mayo to come, all away from home with Laois still to travel to Tyrone.

It was once again a tough day at the office for Tyrone who again lacked finishing and at times looked exposed around the middle and along the full back line against a Galway side that were clinical throughout.Concannon finishing with 2-4 on another good day for the hosts.

Tyrone scored 1-5 in the first half but only hit a single point in the second as Galway rattled up a big scoreline. Mind you it could have been worse for Tyrone, but for six stunning saves from Shannon Lynch, one from a Clarke penalty in the last quarter.

Tyrone Scorers: Gemma Begley 1-1, Niamh O’Neill 0-1, Cathy Donnelly 0-1, Joline Donnelly 0-1 Tori McLaughlin,0-1, Lorraine Conwell 0-1.

Tyrone Shannon Lynch, Karen Quinn, Laura Kilpatrick, Maria Donnelly, Christiane Hunter, Neamh Woods, Anie McShane, Niamh O’Neill, Shannon Quinn, Joiline Donnelly, Cathy Donnelly, Emma Smyth, Gemma Begley, Emma Hegarty Tori McLaughlin
