Tyrone 6-19 Donegal 0-9

Tyrone Ladies U16s made it 3 out of 4 in the Ulster Championship campaign with a convincing win over Donegal in Convoy on Saturday.

From the start is was all Tyrone as they raced into a 2-3 to no score lead within the first 8 minutes. Hannah Lydon, Eadoin Fox and Chloe Corr were causing all sorts of problems for the Donegal defence as the Red Hand girls recorded an impressive 5-11 in the first-half sending them in leading by 22 points at the break.

The second-half was a much closer affair as Donegal played for pride as the Tyrone girls took the foot off the pedal a little. Despite Donegal providing a tougher challenge in this period the Tyrone defence held firm and recorded their first clean sheet of the season while limiting the Tir Connaill girls to only five points. Once again Hannah Lydon was impressive in this half in the Tyrone attack while Cailin McCann stood out at half-back and popped up to score the second-half’s only goal with a superb individual effort.

The U16s now face Monaghan next Saturday in the final game of the Provincial round robin series.
