Tyrone qualified for the final of The Lory Meagher Cup but were made fight all the way by a committed and very determined Warwickshire side playing at their home ground in Birmingham. On a day when conditions were more akin to playing cricket the Red Hands moved into a four point lead 2-6 to 0-8 at the break thanks mainly to first half goals from Conor Grogan and Gerard Gilmore. The high temperatures took their toll on both sides as they went point for point throughout the second half but with less than five minutes remaining the gap was still four points as Tyrone led 2-13 to 0-15. However things got nervy enough for Tyrone in the closing stages as Warwickshire landed a late goal. Fortunately Tyrone held out and qualified for the final on a 2-15 to 1-16 score line. They can now look forward to the final in Croke Park where they will meet the winners of the Fermanagh v Leitrim game.
