Tyrone Lose Out In Semi Final

Tyrone’s hopes of making it through to the Paul McGirr Tier 2 Minor All Ireland Final ended at the semi final stage in Clones on Saturday afternoon when they lost out to a Cavan side who will now meet Kildare in the decider.

 

The Red Hands dominated the opening quarter and 1-2 from Eoin Long couple with points from Peter Colton and Sean Corry saw them go five clear. Cavan though fought their way back into contention with scores from Nathan Quigley, Odhran Madden and Andrew Hill to go in on level terms at the interval.

 

Scores proved difficult to come by on the restart although Peter McGoldrick had a Tyrone brace either side of one for Cavan from Quigley. In the closing stages though it was Cavan who had the upper hand as substitutes Ultan O’Reilly  and Charlie Fallon both hit braces while Quigley registered again as well. Lorcan McMurray hit two points when coming on with Corry scoring again but it was Cavan who advanced to the final.
