Tyrone Make It Seven Out Of Seven.

Tyrone’s great start to the 2012 season continued with their seventh win in seven starts today at Omagh. A local derby against Derry usually means a tight, unattractive, nervy game punctuated by lots of frees and bookings. Well today Tyrone tore up the script and produced another excellent team display that saw them hit 2-15 and leave John Brennan’s side cast adrift pointless after two games. I never thought we might utter the names Mickey Harte and Yul Brynner in the same sentence but Tyrone’s magnificent seven is something worth talking about although Hollywood movie moguls are unlikely to be rushing to turn it into a film. The Tyrone manager would hardly suit the part of a horse riding gunslinger but cigar smoking Tony Donnelly could well give Clint Eastwood a run for his money at times!! With a break of a fortnight until the third round of the league the team can reflect on a very positive start to the season but will be sure they face quite a challenge when they travel south to take on Louth in their next outing. Hopefully then The Magnificent Seven can become The Great Eight.
