Tyrone Minor Camogs made the long run to Bannagher on Saturday to face Kerry in the All Ireland C Championship expecting a tough battle with their highly rated opponents.

A low scoring and tentative first half saw Tyrone lead by one at the break 0-4 to 0-3 but second half goals from Lara Devlin and Kaitlin Gallagher helped them to a deserved 2-9 to 0-11 win.

Kerry did level the scores midway through the second half at 1-7 to 0-10 but a Leah Mc Guigan point put Tyrone ahead again and when Kaitlin Gallagher struck for her team’s second goal with ten minutes left Kerry never recovered and Tyrone held out to win on a final score of 2-9 to 0-11.

In what was a superb all round team performance special mention must go to Francine Farley, Sinead Mc Geary and Reagan Fay who led from the front throughout.

Tyrone scorers: Kaitlin Gallagher 1-1, Lára Devlin 1-2, Leah Mc Guigan 0-01, Reagan Fay 0-03 and Kira Donnelly 0-2.

Next up for the Red Hands is a home clash with Wicklow on Saturday 16th of March.
