Tyrone Minor Championship Final
Eire Og, Carrickmore versus Dungannon, Eoghan Ruadh

Saturday 20th October 2012 @ 4.30pm in Eglish

On Saturday Tyrone’s big two will lock horns once more in the Tyrone Minor Hurling Championship final. Eoghan Ruadh will be hoping to win their third title in a row, while Carrickmore will be seeking their 13th in 16 years.

On league form, the Dungannon side will come into this game as warm favourites having overcome their great rivals easily in round 2. However since then Eire Og have beaten a strong N. Colum Cille side and this would suggest that they have improved considerably and will be keen to make it a close final. In the semi finals Eire Og defeated of Cappagh, while Eoghan Ruadh had the much tougher end of draw, travelling to N. Colum Cille before emerging winners in a really hard fought game.

Eire Og will look to Sean Kerr, Ryan McKernan and particularly top scorer Bryan McGurk for drive and inspiration. Meanwhile Dungannon will rely on Ruairi Devlin, Michael Mannelly & Matthew Mulgrew to lead their charge. Indeed the battle of senior stars Devlin & McGurk will have a big bearing on the result.

The winners of this game will advance to represent Tyrone in the Ulster Minor Tournament held by Ballinascreen. Tyrone representatives have been drawn in the 1/4 finals against the winners of the Lisbellaw (Fermanagh) / Buncrana (Donegal) first round game.
