Tyrone minors responded in style to last week’s All-Ireland heartbreak with a dominant display against Donegal to lift the Ulster Minor Shield on home soil in Edendork.

The Red Hands got off to a flying start with Emer Cunningham opening the scoring from play. Catherine Moohan quickly added two more points—one from a pass by Amy Holmes and the second from a free—as Tyrone took early control despite challenging conditions caused by a strong crossfield wind.

Goalkeeper Hollie Croucher was alert to any Donegal threat, clearing several dangerous balls and helping to maintain her side’s early advantage. With Moohan and Clíona O’Reilly driving Tyrone forward, possession remained firmly in home hands.

Donegal managed just a single free in the first half, while Cunningham, who was later named player of the match, added further points and a well-worked goal following a slick move involving captain Niamh McElduff and Ellen Gillen.

In the second half, managers Sean Moohan and Kevin Cunningham utilised their squad to full effect. Moohan and Cunningham continued to impress, with the latter producing a standout score after a turnover and surging solo run.

Sorcha Hughes, a regular goal-scorer throughout the season, added another to the tally, and McElduff capped a fine captain’s performance with a goal of her own. Moohan rounded off the scoring, sealing a comprehensive win and ensuring Tyrone ended their campaign with a well-earned piece of silverware.
