It certainly did not come as any great surprise to Tyrone supporters today when they heard that three of the Red Hands played key roles in Ulster’s semi final win this afternoon in Sligo. Peter Harte has been outstanding for Tyrone in their matches so far this year and carried that good form into the inter provincial series. The young Errigal star was outstanding and produced a man of the match performance that saw him find the net once again while setting up his colleagues for several scores including a goal from Martin Penrose. Penrose and Owen Mulligan were also in fine form and ran the Connacht defence ragged throughout the game in what was a very convincing win. The three Tyrone players accounted for over half of the Ulster scoring total but their displays contributed much more than that. The only blemish on the day was the disappointing size of the crowd in Sligo but hopefully the final will see a better attendance and one way to guarantee that would be to bring the final to Ulster, the home of the sponsors and give their supporters the chance to show their support for the players and the competition.
