Tyrone Show Seven Changes For Sunday
Friday 14.03.2014
Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has decided to ring the changes following last weekend’s hugely disappointing fifteen point defeat at the hands of Kerry. Only three players Niall Morgan and Sean and Colm Cavanagh retain the shirts they wore in the Killarney defeat. There are seven personnel changes in total, two in defence and five in attack, as the manager seeks to gain the additional two points that would not only ensure division one status but would put the Red Hands in a very strong position to push for a top four finish.
Aidan Mc Crory and Ryan Mc Kenna come into the full back line where they will flank Aghyaran’s Ronan Mc Namee. This trio are set to face a fairly potent and high scoring set of opponents who have run up some impressive scoring totals already this season.
There was some concern earlier in the week that Mattie Donnelly would miss the remainder of the season due to injury but those fears have proved unfounded and the Trillick man will now line out at centre back where he will be joined by the two players who lined out on the wings against Kerry, Conor Clarke and Peter Harte.
Up front there are five personnel changes in total with only Shay Mc Guigan remaining from the six forwards that started in Killarney. A new look half forward line sees Mc Guigan line out at eleven with Ciaran Mc Ginley and Conan Grugan on either side. The full forward line is totally changed with Kyle Coney in the right corner, Mark Donnelly on the square and Connor Mc Aliskey on the left.
The team for Sunday’s clash with Westmeath is:
Niall Morgan Edendork
Aidan Mc Crory Errigal Ciaran
Ronan Mc Namee Aghyaran
Ryan Mc Kenna Eglish
Conor Clarke Omagh
Mattie Donnelly Trillick

Colm Cavanagh Moy
