Tyrone U16 camogie side hosted Wicklow in their Grade C Camogie Championship and produced a superb team display to see off their Leinster opposition on a score line of 4-21 to 4-5.
Catherine Moohan was at the centre of everything good that Tyrone did and along with Aobh Bennett, Neasa Mc Elroy, Niamh Mc Elduff and Emer Cunningham were the most impressive players on show.
First half points from Cunningham and Moohan, as well as a brace of goals from M00han helped Tyrone build up a substantial lead at the break 2-12 to 2–3. Wicklow’s goals came courtesy of the highly impressive midfielder Sarah Doyle and Rebecca Murphy.
Others to shine for Wicklow were Aoife Molloy, Iona Mc Kenna, Eimear O’Toole, Ella Boland, Emily Fleming, and Claire Lambe. They did their best to carry the fight to Tyrone particularly in the second half with Molloy and Aisling O’Toole scoring the Garden County’s goals during a considerable period of possession.
However Tyrone were never really threatened and ran out comfortable sixteen point winners in the end.
