Tyrone’s three point win, along with tonight’s other results, means that the Red Hands will be meeting Fermanagh yet again in the McKenna Cup semi-final this weekend. The match will take place in Armagh this Sunday…

Apologies for the loss of connection on the teamtalk website towards the end of the McKenna Cup game in Omagh. Fermanagh closed the gap to two points with two more scores from Seamus Quigley but Peter Harte wrapped up the scoring from a 45 to give Tyrone a 0-13 to 1-7 victory in the end… Stevie O’Neill scored five points in total, Colm Cavanagh and Mickey Murphy scored two each and the rest of the Tyrone scores came from Peter Hughes, Mattie Donnelly, Tommy McGuigan and Peter Harte…

Kyle Coney arrives on the field for Tyrone in place of Mattie Donnelly, with Damian McCaul having been introduced a bit earlier in place of Dermot Carlin. Now it’s Owen Mulligan making his way onto the field for Penrose. A couple of wides from Lafferty and O’Neill in the last few minutes means the gap stays at four points for now…

GOAL! Fermanagh are back in with a chance as Sean Quigley drills the ball to the roof of the Tyrone net after the ball rebounds to him off the crossbar. And a minute later there are just four points between the teams as Seamus Quigley launches a wonderful kick between the posts from out on the right wing. The three Quigley brothers have shared the Fermanagh scores between them in this match. Tyrone 0-12 Fermanagh 1-5

Tyrone get their first score from play in this half and what a score it is as Mickey Murphy gallops upfield and curls a beauty from long range. Tyrone 0-12 Fermanagh 0-4…

The two Errigal men in the Tyrone defence, Aidan McCrory and Peter Harte, are having great games here at Healy Park with a series of surging runs upfield but just it’s that one point for Tyrone in this second half so far with 14 minutes gone, Martin Penrose hitting a brace of wides to bring Tyrone’s wides tally to eight.

Seamus Quigley does it again, this time from a much easier free in front of the posts; this man is certainly determined to make his presence felt here tonight. Tyrone almost find the Fermanagh net moments later but Mickey Murphy’s shot goes inches wide. Stevie O’Neill then opens Tyrone’s second half account from a free kick, his fifth point of the game, after great work by Aidan McCrory and Johnny Lafferty on the right wing. Tyrone 0-11 Fermanagh 0-4…

Peter Canavan has made some changes to the Fermanagh team at half time to try and turn this match around and the most notable introduction is that of Seamus Quigley who scores within a minute from a difficult free kick on the left wing, a score closely followed by another point from his brother Conor Quigley. There could be an interesting second half in store here judging by the immediate impact Seamus Quigley is making. Tyrone 0-10 Fermanagh 0-3…

Tyrone round off the opening half in good style as Peter Hughes pops over a lovely score after receiving a pass from the impressive Peter Harte, and then Tommy McGuigan adds his name to the scoring sheet from a free kick earned by Mickey Murphy. Things are going well for Tyrone at this halfway stage as they head for the dressing room with a nine point cushion, Fermanagh still striving for that first score from play. Those five changes Fermanagh made before throw in, with the much hyped Seamus Quigley among the absentees, have obviously had an impact on their first half showing. HALF TIME – Tyrone 0-10 Fermanagh 0-1…

Stevie O’Neill ends the sequence of points from play, and scores with the weaker foot, when he drills over a left footed free to widen the gap to seven points. Tyrone 0-8 Fermanagh 0-1

Tyrone extend their lead to six points with a couple of great scores from Mickey Murphy and Mattie Donnelly, with Stevie O’Neill and Peter Harte providing the telling passes. Amazingly all seven Tyrone points have come during open play and every point has been scored with the player’s so called weaker foot – Stevie O’Neill hitting three with his right, Colm Cavanagh notching two with his left, and Mickey Murphy and Mattie Donnelly also on target with their left. Tyrone 0-7 Fermanagh 0-1…

Tyrone’s fifth point promptly arrives courtesy of that man Stephen O’Neill and once again it’s a delightful right footed effort from play. The Clann na nGael star is going very well at this early stage of the season and everyone here is hoping the injury jinx stays away for 2012, although he finally shows that he’s human with a rare wide from the left side of the field, this time with his supposed stronger left foot! Tyrone 0-5 Fermanagh 0-1…

Tyrone’s fourth point of the evening arrives on 26 minutes as Colm Cavanagh swings over a fine score from the right wing after collecting a long ball from Peter Harte. All four Tyrone scores have come from play so far. Tyrone 0-4 Fermanagh 0-1

It’s now four wides apiece after 25 minutes, with just four sores in total, as both sides find it difficult to translate possession into scores in this first half. Fermanagh have been enjoying more possession in the last ten minutes but still haven’t got a score from play…

Good approach work by Mattie Donnelly creates a scoring opportunity for Johnny Lafferty on the left wing but the Urney man is narrowly off target with his curling kick and the score remains 0-3 to 0-1 with 22 minutes gone. It’s proving to be a low scoring affair so far…

The Ernemen are up and running as Daniel Kille splits the posts from a free kick after the ball was picked off the ground by a Tyrone player. So two points between the teams as we approach the end of the first quarter and plenty to play for in front of a crowd which could now be in the region of 8,000. Tyrone 0-3 Fermanagh 0-1…

Fermanagh record another couple of wides and are still waiting for their first score after 14 minutes of play, so things aren’t going according to plan for Peter Canavan’s side in this opening quarter. Tyrone have begun well here with three points in a row, and Peter Hughes, Mattie Donnelly and Dermot Carlin have allbeen showing plenty of industry in these opening exchanges…

Tyrone are now motoring well as Colm Cavanagh and Stevie O’Neill deliver two brilliant scores in quick succession, with Peter Hughes and Tommy McGuigan providing the two assists. O’Neill’s effort was another magnificent kick with the right foot, from practically along the endline. Tyrone 0-3 Fermanagah 0-0…

Eight minutes into the game and we are treated to the first score of the night, and who else should get it only the in form Stevie O’Neill who polishes off great work by Sean O’Neill and Tommy McGuigan with a sublime right footed finish. Tyrone 0-1 Fermanagh 0-0

Fermanagh, showing five changes in personnel hit their first wide through Pat Cadden and moments later they are presented with a great chance to open their account with a goal, only for John Devine to thwart Sean Quigley. Still waiting for a first score after six minutes…

It’s almost twenty to eight and the match is finally underway after a ten minute delay to let the crowd in. There’s about 6000 spectators here and the first wide of the match is recorded by Peter Harte from a 45, which is closely followed by wide number two from Johnny Lafferty. Still no score after 2 minutes…

Heavy traffic in and around the town on the way to Healy Park has resulted in a ten minute delay to the throw in time. The stand at Healy Park is three quarters full at this stage.

We are fifteen minutes away from throw in and our source tells us that Tyrone will line out as selected but that Fermanagh have five changes to their selected lineout. One thing for sure the loudest cheer of the evening so far was when Peter Canavan and Mickey Harte shook hands for the assembled media and exchanged a word or two. Among the supposed changes on the Erne team full forward Seamus Quigley has been replaced by Daniel Kille. We will wait and see what materialises.

Tyrone and Fermanagh will lock horns tonight under lights in Healy Park at 7:30pm with the winners guaranteed a place in the Mc Kenna Cup semi final. We will be bringing you live updates from 7:15pm with the latest team news and word of any changes should they happen before the throw in. Once the action gets under way we will have all the scores, cards and major talking points right here on teamtalkmag.com all the way from first whistle to last.
