A much improved performance in the second half.  Tyrone are in the draw for the third round of qualifiers tomorrow night.  Their opponents will come from the winners of the other Round two games this weekend.

72 min – Tommy McGuigan slots over Tyrone’s final point.  Tyr 1-17 Lgd 0-15

71 min – Philip Jordan pulled to the ground.  Another excellent piece of ball retention.  Peter Harte thumps over his seventh point from the free.  Tyr 1-16 Lgd 0-15

70 min – Tyrone under pressure now.  Experience needed now to see this one out.

67 min – McCormack point once again.  That’s his sixth point.  Down to three point lead again.  Tyr 1-15 Lgd 0-15

66 min – Sean McCormack point for Longford.  Could a late come back be on the cards?  Tyr 1-15 Lgd 0-14

64 min – Peter Harte down injured.  It looks like he’ll be ok.  He’s on to another ball but this time it’s wide.

62 min – Point 6 for Peter Harte.  That’s 6 from play.  Longford cannot get to grips with him.  Tyr 1-15 Lgd 0-13

60 min – Mistake from Dermot Carlin.  Punished by Francis McGee who reduces the lead to 4.  Tyr 1-14 Lgd 0-13

59 min – Peter Harte once again.  He’s putting in a man of the match performance tonight.  Tyr 1-14 Lgd 0-12

55 min – Ryan McMenamin races through the Longford defence and is pulled down.  Martin Penrose slots the free.  Tyr 1-13 Lgd 0-12.  Mulligan comes on for Penrose.

52 min – Longford point through another long range Brian Kavanagh effort.  Tyr 1-12 Lgd 0-12

50 min – It’s that man again Francis McGee.  He reduces the lead to three but Colm Cavanagh helps Tyrone ease it out to four with a point almost immediately.  Tyr 1-12 Lgd 0-11

48 min – Conor Gormley down, needing attention, after an excellent bit of brave defending.

45 min – Peter Harte is really on fire tonight.  Another point for the red head from Errigal.  Tyr 1-11 Lgd 0-10

44 min – Only the goal between them now. Brian Kavanagh pulls another one back for Longford as they reduce the lead to three.  Tyr 1-10 Lgd 0-10

43 min – Francis McGee gets a score back for Longford.  A bit of slack defending from defending. Tyr 1-10 Lgd 0-9

41 min – Mark Donnelly could have had a second goal.  His shot is turned over the bar by Sheridan in the Longford goal.  Tyr 1-10 Lgd 0-8

39 min – Sean Cavanagh fires over his second free. No opportunies being wasted tonight.  Tyr 1-9 Lgd 0-8

38 min – GOAL!   Philip Jordan delivers a wonderful pass to Mark Donnelly and Mark finishes cooly to the Longford net at the town end of the ground.  Tyr 1-8 Lgd 0-8

36 min – Martin Penrose fires over after an excellent run from Mark Donnelly.  Tyrone level up the scores.  Tyr 0-8 Lgd 0-8

Longford arrive out if the tunnel at last.  Glen Ryan’s team talk went on for a little bit longer than expected.

Brian Dooher comes in at the break for Brian McGuigan.

Half Time – Yes a point down at half time.  We’re in for another tough 35 minutes after the break.

36 min – Sean McCormack fires over another Longford free.  It looks like Tyrone may go in a point down at the break.  Tyr 0-7 Lgd 0-8

35 min – Philip Jordan finds Peter Harte and he fists the ball over the bar.  That’s three attempts on goal from Harte and three scores.  Level again.  Tyr 0-7 Lgd 0-7

30 min – Brian McGuigan goes on a solo run but is pulled down.  Sean Cavanagh fires over the free.  Tyr 0-6 Lgd 0-7

26 min – Longford are really putting it up to Tyrone.  Sean McCormack fires over a Longford points thanks a strange bit of refereeing from Pat McEnaney.  Tyr 0-5 Lgd 0-7

24 min – Tyrone under a wee bit of pressure in front of their own goal but McMenamin restores order and sets up another Tyrone attack.  Tyrone register a wide.

21 min – Sean McCormack kicks a free out of the hands to land Longford’s sixth point.  Tyr 0-5 Lgd 0-6

19 min – Tyrone put a string of excellent passes together before Colm Cavanagh lands a left footed point over the Longford goals.  Tyr 0-5 Lgd 0-5

15 min – Donal McElligott pops over his first point of the evening and Longford go one clear thanks to Sean McCormack  a minute later Tyr 0-4 Lgd 0-5

12 min –  Colm Cavanagh and Peter Harte combine well as Peter hits a nice long range point.  Tyr 0-4 Lgd 0-3

10 min – Mark Farrell swings over a nice left footed point.  But Tyrone respond quickly and Peter Harte cancels out the Longford lead.  Tyr 0-3 Lgd 0-3

8 min – Mark Donnelly fists a point to level the scores after some excellent work from Sean Cavanagh Tyr 0-2 Lgd 0-2

7 min – Tyrone lose possession and Paul Bardon finishes off a slick Longford move.

3 min – Brian Kavanagh curls one over the Tyrone bar to level the score.  Tyr 0-1 Lgd 0-1

2 min – Guess what?  Kyle Coney swings over a left footed point from play.  Tyr 0-1 Lgd 0-0

7.09pm  We’re up and running.  Kyle Coney will have great memories of this place.  He scored 0-5 in the All Ireland replay win over Mayo in 2008.

Slight delay as expected.  Still a big crowd making their way into the ground.  Fabulous evening.  Slight breeze blowing across the field.  Should be up and running at 7.10pm

Well we’re in place at Pearse Park, Longford and the strong rumours around the press box are that the Tyrone team as we expected will see five changes from the one named on Thursday night.

Teamtalkmag is hearing that Dermot Carlin will start in place of Martin Swift.  Justin McMahon will take the place of Davy Harte, Colm Cavanagh will start instead of Brian Dooher, Kyle Coney for Stephen O’Neill and finally Aidan Cassidy for Kevin Hughes.  The changes have come.  Let’s see what it brings.
