Tyrone Versus Armagh Again!
Thursday 06.10.2011

Tyrone will play near neighbours Armagh in the opening round of the Ulster championship following the draw on Thursday evening. The two counties have met numerous times over the past number of years in the Ulster championship while this year’s clash was their first ever meeting in the qualifiers but it will only the second time be since 1990 that they will play each other at the Athletic Grounds. On that occasion the Orchard men edged the verdict in controversial circumstances after a wonder goal from current Tyrone U21 manager Raymond Munroe was ruled out by Fermanagh referee Damian Campbell.
The Red Hands are in the tougher half of the draw with the winners of that game meeting either Derry, Cavan or holders Donegal, the latter two going head to head in the preliminary round. In the top half of the draw Fermanagh play host to Down with the winners facing either Monaghan or Antrim in the semi final.
