Tyrone vocationals look to next test
Tyrone vocationals passed the first round test posed by Cavan in Donagh and are now focusing on their preparations for the semi-final, writes Damien Donnelly.
The management team of Brian McGuckin, Declan O’Neill and Richard Thornton were delighted to see the side make a winning start to the Ulster campaign but it was not all plain saling, as Brian McGuckin explained.
”We created good chances in the first half but missed a fair few of them and then Cavan came out with all guns blazing at the top of the second half.
”They cut our lead right down but the lads responded really well to quell the Breffni comeback.
” Two goals gave us key breathing space and we were able to close out the game in good fashion.
” Monaghan are next up in the last four now and we will need a big display for that particular challenge.
” Getting through the first round was the central aim and at least there’s a bit more time to work with the squad ahead of the semi-final”, stressed Brian.
That Tyrone v Monaghan tie is due to be played in the early part of December, details to be confirmed.
